Bhagavad Gita Commentary – Chapter 18 – Part 2
Advisers, guardians, industrialists, and craftsmen — the divisions of society with their corresponding duties, determined by the innate characteristics found within each.
The duty of advisers is to provide reasoning and understanding to society, utilizing their self-discipline, sincerity, serenity, and patience. The duty of guardians is selfless protection of society, utilizing their courage, strength, proficiency, and perseverance. The duty of industrialists is the development and management of society’s resources. The duty of craftsmen is the materialization of society’s resources through craftwork and artistry.
Even if performed imperfectly, those selflessly devoted to their duty, aligned with their nature, become like the all-pervading creator and attain perfection.
